I have a number of pieces of Jewish-oriented jewelry, most of them bought when gold was not impossible to buy.  I knew that this necklace was only gold-plated but I liked the design of the letters of the Shema surrounded by a circle border.  I'm glad to say that it did not disappoint; the piece was relatively light and glowed like gold does.  It is a great statement of faith - showing how calligraphy can have its own beauty.  I highly recommend this pendant with chain - not too small nor too large to center of the words of the prayer.
