The necklace depicts a golden Star of David (or Magen David in Hebrew) sitting in the center of silver disk, and cut out from it.

Throughout the ages the Star of David has always been one of the most recognizable Jewish symbols. It is known that King Davids' warriors would protect themselves with  six cornered (hexagram) shields that brought them Divine protection and blessing. Hence the name- Magen David (Davids' shield). Right next to the gold Star of David you will find inscribed a famous verse from the Book of Psalms:" The LORD bless thee out of Zion; and see thou the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life".
