Product Description

This incredibly beautiful Seder Plate from Dorit Judaica will be the center piece of your Pessach table. It is decorated with a colorful display of colorful pomegranates and leaves together with a dotted design. In the center is a mustard colored mandala and around are six glass bowls to hold the symbolic Seder foods. The names of each one are written alongside, on the rim.

The six ritual foods tell the story of the slavery in Egypt. The Charoset mixture of apples, nuts and wine is a symbol of the mortar used by the Jews to build during their slavery years. The Beitzah, egg, is a symbol of mourning for the loss of the Two Temples and it is also a symbol of life for the start of a new Jewish identity. The Marror, bitter herbs, is a reminder of the bitter slavery in Egypt. The Zeroah, a meat or chicken bone, represents the Passover sacrifice in the Temple. Karpas, a vegetable dipped into salt water at the start of the Seder, represents the tears of the Jews in their years of slavery.
