Decorative 3 Panel Wall Plaque with Sons Blessing Hebrew - Dorit Judaica

Product Description

Judaic artist Dorit Klein inspires us with this magnificent wall blessing plaque depicting the traditional father’s blessing to his sons. Around the Hamsa symbol are engraved the words of the Priestly Blessing also recited by the father, “May G-d bless you and keep you…” In the center, in a pastoral green-blue background, is written the blessing and along both sides is the English translation: “May G-d make you like Epraim and Menashe.” The tasteful grey background with adornment of pomegranates and doves make this the perfect gift for the father, for young parents - for any occasion.
It is customary for fathers to bless their children before the holy Yom Kippur day. In addition, there are those who bless their sons and daughters every Shabbat, at night before Kiddush. Many have adopted this beautiful custom and incorporated it into the family tradition. As the father places his hands on the child’s head and utters the timeless blessing, there is a meaningful moment of intimacy between them for which many children wait the entire week.
The words of the blessing for sons have their source in the Bible. Before Yaakov died, he blessed the two sons of Joseph and bequeathed on them, his grandsons, equal status to his sons as being fully-fledged members of the Twelve Tribes. Ever since, fathers have blessed their sons with the same words, “May G-d make you like Ephraim and Menasheh”
