Product Description

This beautiful Hamsa pendant is a stylish piece with symbolic significance. The pendant has been designed by Israeli design studio Adina Plastelina who creates her craft by using the Millefiori process. Millefiori technique meaning creating a picture by 3D sculpting. This naturalistic thousand-butterflies pendant is completely handmade from sterling silver and polymer clay which gives it its special texture.
On the turquoise polymer back ground, there appears in silver the words of the "Shema Israel" prayer. Shema Yisrael prayer is the most important of all Jewish sayings, it is the first prayer a Jewish child is taught to say. A declaration of faith and a pledge of our allegiance, the Shema is said upon arising in the morning, before going to sleep at night, when praising God, when beseeching Him, and it is the last word upon the Jew's lips when leaving this life.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Adina Plastelina specializes in the design and crafting of unique jewelry by means of the Millefiori process. Millefiori is the combination of the Italian words Mille (Thousand) and Fiori (Flowers), a term used for the first time around the year 1850, yet the process itself has been in use for about 2,000 years.
Now, two thousand years later, the talented craftsmen of Adina Plastelina, have revived this technique and applied it to Polymer Clay. The play of colors, shapes and patterns, joined together with materials such as silver & gold, transform these pieces into handmade, individual works of art, no two of which are identical.
